Angel of the Hour

I’m reading a book “Music of Silence” by Br. David Steindl-Rast. I drove to Mt. Saviour Monastery yesterday after Mass and Brunch at Mt. Irenaeus. I wanted to spend some time in their bookstore and some quiet time in their chapel on the First Sunday of Advent as we prepare for the coming of the Saviour. During my visit to the monastery bookstore I spied Brother David’s book. The title intrigued me and it made me think of the retreat times I’ve spent as a guest at the monastery. It’s a short book wtih an introduction by Kathleen Norris.

Tonight I decided to take a look at Br. David’s website, Gratefulness.org. There is a new dimension to the website and one that complements the book I’m reading. It is Angel of the Hour. It is an invitation to explore the Liturgy of the Hours. Enjoy.
