We just got home from a night in Ontario. My wife and I spent the night at Niagara-on-the-Lake as guests at the Prince of Wales Hotel and we also got to see “The Circle” at the Royal George Theater. We’re members of the Shaw Festival and we really enjoy our visits there and the quality of the productions. Niagara-on-the-Lake is such a quaint and charming village. It’s like stepping back in time. We missed attending last year. I don’t know how but we did. We’ll be going again this year. Last night’s performance was great. I recommend the Shaw Festival to anyone who enjoys theater. I also enjoy my forays to Ontario as they have lovely bakeries and I’m a fan of raisin-butter tarts. They’re available in the United States at Tim Horton’s Restaurants. I just love visiting Canada. Its a lovely country.

I used to love visiting Stratford, Ontario for their Shakespeare Festival. Delightful. The last time I went, I stayed in a small local motel that was quiet, simply furnished, and very homelike. And I made a small stop by the Falls, too. While I don’t like the surrounding commercialism, I love seeing the Falls themselves. Simply breathtaking.
Never been to Stratford. I’ve wanted to go and have no excuse. Must get there soon. 🙂
