In a breaking news story Congressman Dennis Kucinich of Ohio is introducing articles of impeachment. He named Vice President Cheney. Voice of America describes Dennis as:

Kucinich, who ran unsuccessfully for president in 2004, represents the far left of the Democratic party and has been among the sharpest critics of the Bush administration since the U.S. invaded Iraq in 2003.

Anyone who opposes this aggression is labeled left wing, out of the mainstream, etc. Those with the courage to insist on the conservative position of actually following the Constitution of the United States have been mislabeled as “far out.” In a speech delivered on the floor of the House of Representatives today Congressman Kucinich said the following.

This House cannot avoid its constitutionally authorized responsibility to restrain the abuse of Executive power,” Kucinich said on the floor today. “The Administration has been preparing for an aggressive war against Iran. There is no solid, direct evidence that Iran has the intention of attacking the United States or its allies.

I hope Dennis gives Mr. Cheney a run for his money and his motion gets some backing. We need something to forestall this administration from embroiling us and our military in another no-win situation. Here is a link to OpenSecrets.org which shows who is bankrolling Dennis. He isn’t getting any money from AIPAC which might explain why he is so outspoken. Most of the AIPAC subsidized congressional Democrats have ruled out impeachment. AIPAC plays a strong roll in American politics and consequently American foreign policy. It is the only PAC not required to register as a PAC. Read more about AIPAC and the Pro-Arab lobby here.

  1. The last time Dennis Kucinich ran for president he wanted to create a Departent of Peace as part of the federal gavernment. I still hope this idea catches on.

Last night on the PBS program Frontline they did some reporting about how Cheney talked Bush into backing out of campaign promises made in 2000 concerning capping carbon emmissions to do something about global warming. It was a good look at just how much power Cheney weilds in this administration, and has from the begining, even before 9/11.
