Recently when working in a client’s home I began to speak of Rumi and my client spoke of Rumi and Wayne Dyer. This discussion was joined again last Friday night at half time of a basketball game as I met my client again. He offered to give me some CDs that contained some talks by Dr. Wayne Dyer. One of Dyer’s latest works is, “Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao” This morning I decide to purchase the book as an audio book on I-Tunes. I’ve been listening to it ever since I came home tonight. There is just so much there to think on, but much of what Dr. Dyer suggests is wisdom I’ve heard before, but it is great to be reminded of it, “Let Go and Let God.” I first read the Tao te Ching after reading “The Tao of Pooh” about six or seven years ago. It was while eating lunch while working at Mt. Irenaeus that a Franciscan nun from Philadelphia suggested that I read that little book. The book was captivating and it made me want to read more about the Tao. The Tao is full of paradox and peace in the midst of pandemonium.
The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao;
The name that can be named is not the eternal name.
Addedd to my reading list.
I am currently reading the Return of the Prodigal Son — thank you for suggest it. It is very enlightening and helpful.
I read Return of the Prodigal Son. I am a prodigal. I enjoyed that book immensely and came to see myself as both the son, the brother and the father. 🙂 Don
Hi Don,
I found you today by googling Thich Nhat Hanh and “We’re all One” …. and I’m so grateful. When I read the first line of this post, the names Rumi & Wayne Dyer jumped out at me. I thought, this person grativates towards the same teachers I do, and I knew I had to leave a comment. Looking forward to reading more of your blog.
p.s. – Just visited your “About” page — and another name jumped out at me. I had the privilege of hearing Richard Rohr give a lecture last year. He blew me away! That is to say, his logic and ideas inspired me in ways I hadn’t been for many years. I’m looking forward to learning more from him.
Glad you liked the site and the writing. Blogging has become a great pastime and a way of connecting with others. Richard Rohr is a great thinker/writer. I’d like to visit his retreat center sometime. 🙂 Don
