I must say after one month with the iPhone that it is an amazing device and worth owning. Nonetheless I really miss my Droid here in Philadelphia at the ISTE Conference because Androids maps and navigation beat iMap hands down. Lots of great apps on the iPhone and the camera is without peer. The navigation tools need more work. I’ve seen lots of iPhones at the ISTE Conference but also many attendees with Androids and Android really dominates among the vendors selling tablets. Viewsonic, Samsung & Verizon all had dozens of Android devices for sale.
Nook Color as an Android Tablet | Jason T Bedell
This is a great article by a fellow educational technologist I met through a colleague via Twitter last summer. I followed Jason’s lead and bought a Nook Color on Saturday night. Now thanks to “rooting” the device I can read Barnes & Noble Books, Kindle Books and use the Android platform to its full potential. This can literally double the number of tablet devices you can put in your school or classroom. I was going to hold off until Notion Ink released the Adam. I am pretty sure that I’ll get an Adam too, but for now my Nook Color is giving me a great ride through cyberspace.
