Fill the cup please…!
Yesterday, the United States Senate passed a measure designed to increase mileage standards for automobiles produced in the United States to an average of 35 miles per gallon by 2020. By then gasoline will be $10.00/gallon and 35 mpg will be just as anemic as our current standards. Yesterday, the Vice-President announced that his office is not subject to oversight for classified information.

I’ve seen the following presentation a number of times and each time I come away with something a little different. I love the music but I love the thoughts highlighted by the music. I work in a small school system that is populated with students, teachers, administrators and parents. In many ways our school is a place where children go for formation.

A couple of days ago I wrote about the increasingly sad state of our nation. New numbers taken from a Wall Street Journal poll suggest that only 19% of the American people believe we are headed in the right direction.
Then and now..
The Concert for Bangladesh occurred in August 1971. It’s been nearly thirty-six years since then and we’re at another watershed of emotion in world affairs. Will we turn our back on the suffering in Darfur? Will we turn our back on the suffering in Iraq and throughout the middle east.
Thoughts
Too busy to write until now. I’ve all but stopped listening to what passes as news. I continue to skim Huffington, Think Progress and some other blogs. It’s getting late and I’ve just tuned into Game 3 of the Cleveland-San Antonio NBA Finals. I’m pulling for Cleveland, but they’re down 2-0 and trailing going into the fourth quarter of Game 3.
