The Holocaust

Everytime I read about the Holocaust or see pictures of it I am reminded of how brutal men and women can be to their brothers and sisters. This presentation from the New York Times brings that to light once again. Our current misadventures in Iraq and elsewhere provide ample evidence that we Americans too can dehumanize our enemies and look at them not as fellow men but merely as subhumans who can be easily killed.

Why we fight

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. A fraud

“I’ve got God’s shoulder to cry on. And I cry a lot. I do a lot of crying in this job. I’ll bet I’ve shed more tears than you can count, as president,” –President George Bush

When I read this quote I was not moved, in fact I was sickened. Here is a man who clearly doesn’t give a damn about what God thinks or for that matter what nearly 75% of his citizens think. This short sentence is the rambling of a person out of touch with God and man. Continue reading “A fraud”
