This afternoon as I was getting home from work I received a text message asking me to call my senators at 202-224-3121 and ask them to support the Reed-Levin amendment to bring our troops home from Iraq. Continue reading “Reed-Levin and more”
The Holocaust
Everytime I read about the Holocaust or see pictures of it I am reminded of how brutal men and women can be to their brothers and sisters. This presentation from the New York Times brings that to light once again. Our current misadventures in Iraq and elsewhere provide ample evidence that we Americans too can dehumanize our enemies and look at them not as fellow men but merely as subhumans who can be easily killed.
Cutting through the spin
A few days ago I mentioned to a colleague at work that I enjoyed Bill Maher. The young man said to me, “he’s pretty liberal isn’t he?” Continue reading “Cutting through the spin”
Rogue president
I came across a well written piece tonight on a WordPress blog. I think it speaks for itself and I link it in the hope that some will read and react to it. Read more here..
The truth
Suppression can only last so long and then eventually the truth eventually bubbles to the top. In today’s news reading I came across an article about Alan Greenspan’s new book. Click here to read more. Continue reading “The truth”
Petraeus or Betray us
The last couple days General Petraeus has been in Congress defending the status quo in Iraq. Tonight I read in the news that the President intends to keep 160,000 troops in Iraq through next year. Continue reading “Petraeus or Betray us”
Tucker Carlson Tries And Fails To Portray Dennis Kucinich As America Hater
Ohio Congressman and Democratic presidential candidate, Dennis Kucinich, appeared on Tucker today and easily held his ground against the ever-whiny host. Rep. Kucinich just returned from a fact finding visit to Syria and the no ratings loser. I’m a Kucinich supporter and his idea of a Department of Peace.
Convenient fraud
A new video has surfaced on the eve of the sixth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attack. Call me skeptical and cynical, but I think it’s more than coincidence whenever the Bush Administration has some agenda to promote that Osama bin Laden appears out of almost nowhere. Continue reading “Convenient fraud”
Why we fight
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron. ~Dwight D. Eisenhower, speech, American Society of Newspaper Editors, 16 April 1953
A fraud
“I’ve got God’s shoulder to cry on. And I cry a lot. I do a lot of crying in this job. I’ll bet I’ve shed more tears than you can count, as president,” –President George Bush
When I read this quote I was not moved, in fact I was sickened. Here is a man who clearly doesn’t give a damn about what God thinks or for that matter what nearly 75% of his citizens think. This short sentence is the rambling of a person out of touch with God and man. Continue reading “A fraud”
